Meet Brendine
Dietitian at Behind the Plate
Brendine is a seasoned dietitian with a thoughtful, compassionate approach to food, body image, and well-being. With experience in bariatric care, mental health, and eating disorders, she blends intuitive eating, somatic awareness, and mindfulness to help clients reconnect with their bodies and values. Her work is rooted in HAES®, self-compassion, and deep respect for each person’s story. Brendine shares a compassionate and curious approach to all things body, food, and nutrition.
Brendine has been a practising dietitian since 2007, with specialization in bariatric care, mental health care, chronic illnesses, and eating disorders. Her practice is rooted in acceptance, self-compassion, and health at every size (HAES). She has a diploma in counselling for obesity medicine (DCOM), is a certified Intuitive Eating Counsellor, and has training in body image healing. She infuses thoughtful approaches from intuitive eating, ACT (acceptance and commitment therapy), somatic awareness, and mindfulness to nurture a better relationship with food and the body.
Outside of dietetics, Brendine is a yoga teacher, mom, and outdoor adventurer. She looks forward to helping people align with a vision for food and eating that nourishes their body, mind, and soul.
